About us
Beanwood Coffee was founded by the management team of Elizabeth Acevedo and Pedro Gomez. Ms. Acevedo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brooklyn College and a second bachelor’s degree in education from Turabo University. Mr. Gomez also attended the French Culinary School in New York City. They both attended the Coffee Shop Business and Barista School in Portland, Oregon. The combined entrepreneurial expertise, food service experience, administrative skills, sales ability, business acumen, and barista training of the management team will leave you astounded.
Thank you for a wonderful dinner last night when we visited with Judy M!! Can’t say how much we enjoyed it and we will be back again and bring others…I feel as if we stumbled on a secret place …The Latin food was delish and now we are excited that we have a place nearby to eat some of our favorites!! Keep up the good work

I went with a friend recently and was shocked to find some of the best Puerto Rican food that I have EVER had in ANY restaurant!!!

This place continues to amaze me with the Puertorican food. I had arroz con gandules, pernil, tostones/platanos y alcapurrias, and they were delicious. I was a bit nervous at first because I didn’t want to be disappointed after a long day at work. My husband and I were impressed. Elizabeth took care of and was very friendly. The service was spectacular. Elizabeth arranged the food on the plates so neat it felt the food came out straight from a television show or a magazine. The place is friendly/relaxing and the coffee is great too. My hubby loved their fresh lemonades. I recommend this place to anyone who wants really good puertorican food and good coffee with it.
